Hallo alte Freunde,

ich bin eben durch Zufall auf Eure Seite gestoßen. Mann, wie war ich erstaunt mein eigenes Gesicht auf der Seite vom 10-jährigen Band-Age Festival in Netphen zu sehen. Ich erinnere mich daran, als wäre es gestern gewesen. Achso, hab mich ja noch gar nicht vorgestellt: Ich bin Volkmar Heinz, damals Gitarrist der Band "Sacred Sounds of Grass". Zwischenzeitlich habe ich die Musik an den Nagel gehängt und mich Beruf und Familie gewidmet. Mit meinen alten Bandkollegen habe ich erstmals nach 14 Jahren wieder vor ein paar Monaten auf der Hochzeit von Sam Hain gespielt. Da kamen alt Erinnerungen wieder hoch. Es war damals immer toll, mit Euch auf Festivals zu spielen, das haben wir ja sehr oft gemacht. Fitty Wahler hat uns ja öfters am Bass begleitet… Ich hab auch noch die Videos von den Fernsehaufnahmen mit Helmut bei uns am Bass… Also, nochmals ganz liebe Grüße an Martin, Fitty, Helmut und Frieder und an die Neuen, die ich nicht kenne,

Hallo liebe Band!

Haben ebenfalls mit Bedauern festgestellt, dass euer Konzert in Kraichtal abgesagt wurde. Leider war dies das einzigste in unserer Nähe, schade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoffentlich seid ihr nächstes Jahr mal wieder in unsere Nähe. Unsere ganze Familie ist Damaris Joy Fan, besonders die jüngste Tochter von uns, die nach euch benannt wurde. Sie heisst Damaris Melissa Joy! Sie kam auf die Welt als ihr eure Pause angefangen habt. Dies war für uns damals sehr traurig, so dass wenigstens der Name weiter leben sollte. Sie ist sehr stolz darauf Euren Namen zu tragen. Wir wünschen Euch alles liebe, Gottes Segen bis hoffentlich bald!

Hallo, zusammen,

nach der Sommerpause bin ich sofort in Eure Homepage geschlüpft unter Rubrik "Konzerte" und habe mit Bedauern festgestellt, dass das Konzert in Kraichtal abgesagt wurde - gibt´s so was? Hoffentlich findet sich dieses Jahr noch ein Termin. Nachdem ich die 3 Sommertermine leider nicht wahrnehmen konnte, hatte ich mir den Novembertermin fest reserviert. Ich würde Euch gern mal wieder live hören und sehen. Gern denke ich an das Konzert vorletztes Jahr in Geithain zurück. Habe seither vieles von Euch lernen können, musikalisch natürlich und auch aus den Texten, die sehr authentisch aus Eurem Leben berichten.

Kämpft weiter! Mit unserem HERRN sind wir auf der Siegerseite.

Greetings Hans-Martin,

Thank you for replying to my e-mail. I expected no reply, and only wanted to tell you folks how much I appreciated your music at CA. I am even surprised that you took the time to reply to my very short message and am grateful for your heartfelt response.

It is delightful for me to hear that you experienced your time here as "coming home". I too experience CA as family; a place where we can tell each other about the ins and outs, the ups and downs, as no other place I have ever experienced.

For me, Damaris Joy was always quality and feeding. That has not changed. Perhaps your performance is even stronger. I say perhaps only because I am not a stage person [I am a sculptor], and have no pretentions to be able to tell you about your quality and can only tell you my response as a non-musician. As we live life, change, grow, go through "stuff", it comes out in our art, whatever that may be; painting, music, drama, or whatever our field may be. My gut feeling is that your music has grown, is even more powerful/giving than I remember from years ago, when I loved it as it was.

One thing I appreciate so much is that I see no ego presentation, but true musicians who love to do what they are doing and love to give what they are giving. You all should be PROUD of the fact that you can celebrate 30 YEARS!! and are still going strong and growing in your music. What more can we ask of ourselves? In our society's emphasis on youth culture we can forget the insight / mildness / understanding, maybe even wisdom now and then, that life's experiences can give us. If we have lived life with some amount of openness, we might actually have something to say. And what about the simple fact that we do what we do, as well as we can, and we are still doing it? Facharbeiter sind wir. Not to be forgotten in the surounding emphasis on new or original or shocking.

"Oldie band"? I DON'T THINK SO! Go for it guys! Go for the so called secular world. What is the secular world but people like you and me? Who are we to decide where our art is to be shared? "More mature, more ourselves, more fun". Doesn't that say enough? I just cannot see a dividing line between "us and them". Who is "us", who are "them". It is all us, isn't it? One God, one creation, all of us - his children.

I certainly hope - see you next year at CA!!! In the meantime, all the best in your work, your lives, your loves,

Hallo Damaris Joy!

Es ist so gut dass Sie zusammen weiter spielen. Ich waren auf eurem Mini-Konzert in Doorn (Christian Artists, NL), und es war wirklich Extraklasse!! Man kann sehen das Sie allen viel spaß haben um wieder zusammen zu spielen.

Ein ganz tolles Mini-Konzert. Danke für die signierte CD.

Hallo Hardy,

war schön, euch wieder mal zu hören. Leider hat mir mein Sohn einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht und wir mussten nach ca. einer 3/4 Std. schon die Heimreise antreten. Aber für Hachenburger Verhältnisse waren recht viele Leute da. Die Jungs und Mädels aus meinem Jahrgang und so ca. plusminus 10 Jahre freuen sich immer, wenn ihr spielt. Die anderen fragen bei Damaris Joy meistens "Wer is'n dat?" Eure "Pause" war wohl zu lang...

Nadine und ich waren auf eurem Konzert in Eisern: Es war wirklich Extraklasse!! Ein ganz tolles Konzert. Ich kannte die Band aus eigener Anschauung ja sonst nicht (Neu-Siegener...!). Der Abend hat sich wirklich gelohnt!

Und jetzt endlich die Limited Edition. Ich bin ein Fan aus Frankreich, und kam in Genuss von eurem Sound kurz bevor ihr damals aufgehört habt. Bin jetzt über 30 und darf wieder hoffen, euch mal live miterleben zu dürfen. Also kommt mal in die Nähe von Strassburg, Freiburg oder Basel (in der Eulerstrasse 9).

als ich durch Zufall auf Eure WebSite stieß war ich wie elektrisiert. Im Archiv fand ich eine Zeit mit Euch wieder, die mir damals vor mehr als 20 Jahren sehr viel bedeutet hat. Ich finde es einfach toll, dass Ihr immer noch aktiv seid. Ich wünsche Euch eine Menge Segen dabei und immer eine gute Botschaft.

Dear members of Damaris Joy,

(...) We didn't know that you started as group again. We did follow you in the starting time of the group and bought almost all your albums, and visited concerts in the Netherlands. I that period I (Marianne) had a difficult time at school and at home and your music pulled me through so many difficult days. Your music and lyrics spoke to my heart and made some days a bit easier. There were a lot of problems in our home and my parents expected me to solve all that. My only friend during that period was Jesus - and words cannot say enough how important DJ was. (...) We hope that this new start of DJ will have a long time to go. Telling, singing about your faith and what it means to you, is a great gift. (...) We wish you all the best, God's blessing on your work - and we will probably see you at a concert!!!

Hallo zusammen!!

Obwohl jetzt schon jemand im Gästebuch gefragt hatte, warum ihr gerade "Damaris Joy" heißt, hab ich doch noch keine Antwort darauf gefunden. Da ich aber selber Damaris heiß, würde mich gerade das doch sehr interessieren. :-)
